"OUR HIGH SPEED WORLD HAS SHIFTED FROM SOIL TO OIL." - BENJAMIN BARLOWE

FROM WINDMILLS TO LANDFILLS…

Our world sure has changed since the days of our grandparents. They consumed less, bought local, and what they did buy was used, reused, and re-purposed. As children of the depression, they knew how to make do.

Reusing, recycling, and re-purposing may be trendy terms in today's “Green” culture, but to our grandparents it just made sense. Somewhere in the speed of life, we forgot to heed our grandparent's sage advice. Because of this faster pace, we have seen a monumental shift in how our “stuff” is made.

As parents and toy designers we have had enough of cheap plastic toys.

WE HAVE A CHANCE TO BEGIN AGAIN.

At our Colorado workshop, our team of toy designers are hard at work brainstorming and creating new toys. They love the challenge of creating memorable play that is made from plants instead of plastics.

  • We are committed to helping families move to plastic free play.
  • We are here to help kids unplug and engage without screen time.
  • Create an art station where kids are free to access simple art supplies on demand.
  • We hope our small company can help you reduce & ultimately eliminate OIL based plastics from kids at play.

WE BELIEVE IN THE PLAYFUL POWER OF PLANTS.

RUBBERWOOD

Rubberwood is a very versatile plant. Sustainably grown on plantations throughout southeast Asia and Brazil, the Hevea Brasiliensis is a fast growing hardwood and a reliable renewable resource for its milksap and its wood.

Our wooden toys, puzzles, and games use this hardwood.

NATURAL RUBBER

Natural rubber is also derived from the Hevea Brasiliensis tree. Our bathtub toys are made from this durable plant based material. Sustainably grown on plantations throughout southeast Asia and Brazil, Hevea Brasiliensis is a fast growing hardwood and a reliable renewable resource for its milksap and its wood.

CORN STARCH RUBBER

For our Made in the USA teething toys, we use an innovative new bio-plastic derived from corn. This material is a working replacment for PVC and other soft synthetic rubber materials. This material is NON-GMO sourced and 100% compostable - Certified for compostability to US and EU standards.

MAINE ROCK MAPLE

Maine rock maple is the perfect companion to the soft corn starch rubber used on our infant teething toys. This USA supplied hardwood is known for its strength and for not splintering. Used as a toy making material for hundreds of years, we are proud to make our wood teething toys in the USA.

WATER BASED STAINS

For our rubberwood toys, games, and puzzles we use water based stains for our finishes. Many wood toys are often covered in paints and oil based finishes. We are proud of the woods we use and the water based stains are not only eco-friendly but they show off the beauty of the woods we use. Best of all it keeps paint out of the mouths of kids at play.
